The packed-out warehouse space in Netil House was like an oven by midnight as revelers vied for space on the dancefloor in the dark, cavernous room. So often the home to London’s top underground offerings, mulletover continued the buzz of its New Year’s Eve party with Bloc to keep an energetic crowd dancing until the early hours.

The Kompakt Records founder ensured the techno flowed freely.

For their debut 2012 night, mulletover kicked off with ManMakeMusic’s Another Amit and resident Geddes, the latter kicking the night into gear at 1am when his progressive house took a more chunky direction as he ramped up the pace. Geddes is ever-reliable behind the decks at mulletover and he set up an excitable atmosphere for Joy Orbison to work to his advantage. Orbison’s garage-infused techno showed why he’s been held in such high acclaim as he skips through styles. By the time he’d finished mixing it up, the heatwave inside Netil House had reached its peak and an airing outside was much needed to cool off before Michael Mayer’s closing two hours. The Kompakt Records founder ensured the techno flowed freely and, on emerging into the daylight outside, January didn’t seem such a bad month after all.
