Ulverston International Music Festival is mixing gastronomy with music by offering food-themed experiences to go hand-in-hand many of its concerts.
Sound Bites is a new foodie themed twist on the line-up for concerts across South Cumbria from Friday, May 30th to Sunday, June 8th in a range of historic and often unexpected venues.
There will be a performance by Gusto Renaissance Winds on Saturday, June 1st at Holy Trinity Church, Bardsea before lunch at The Ship Inn in Bardsea.
On Tuesday, June 3rd, Swarthmoor Hall will host two Tango Cafés where you can picnic or eat at the on-site café while enjoying the south American music style in the venue’s gardens.
Other options include flute and harp music with dinner at Brantwood Terrace Café (Monday, June 2nd), or a two-course lunch with wine at the Base restaurant sandwiched between a string recital at the Sir John Barrow Monument in the morning and the coach house later on Wednesday, June 4th.
There will also be a cruise between the Coniston and Grizedale Fells aboard the steam yacht Gondola in the company of violinist Daniel Rowland and cellist Maja Bogdanovic on Wednesday, June 4th. A 90-minute performance is followed by dinner at Brantwood’s Terrace Café.
The last of the Sound Bites takes place at Levens Hall bringing together string instruments and afternoon tea on Saturday, June 7th.
