Amsterdam-based artist Nora Turato will get a debut solo UK exhibition at the ICA London in April.
From Wednesday, April 9th until Sunday, June, 8th, pool7 will feature a site-specific exhibition of new work spanning performance, writing, video, and sound.
Turato, known for her sharp wit and radical subversion, investigates our complex relationship with language in the digital age and for the first time will incorporate her own writing amongst her found “pools” of language.
This showcase explores the absurdities, ideologies, and anxieties embedded in everyday language follows on from notable exhibitions and performances at Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2024), Kunsthalle Vienna (2024), and Museum of Modern Art, New York (2022).
Her thought-provoking and humorous performances will be presented during the run with vigour and intense emotions: expect cries, screams and sobs to be incorporated in these improv-inspired monologues, tapping into reactions we suppress.
