ICA presents Geumhyung Jeong's sensual and absurdist autonomous robot sculptures

Choreographer and performance artist Geumhyung Jeong will explore the relationship between machines and bodies in their ICA show starting Wednesday, September 25th.

Under Construction at the London space will run until Sunday, December 15th featuring sculpture, installation, performance, and video in a way that challenges the parameters of each medium.

The exhibition space will function like Jeong's workshop and audiences will be invited to observe her work and rehearsals.

Sensual autonomous sculptures with spines, and other skeletal parts which will come alive during a series of performance dates throughout the run.

Jeong, who represented South Korea at the Venice Biennale in 2022, previously collaborated with Miu Miu for their F/W 23 collection, performed with her robots at the Tate Modern (in 2017) and shown at Fondazione Modena Arti Visive in Modena.

Exhibition entrance is £6, but on Tuesdays it’s free. The ICA’s new late openings mean you can access it from 4pm to11pm on Tuesday to Thursday, and 12pm to 11pm Friday to Sunday.
