Fantasty Orchestra to bring Brazil's Tropicalia movement to London

Ths the influences and legacy of the controversial late 60's Tropicalia movement will be heard when the Fantasty Orchestra plays Islington's Union Chapel

On Saturday, July 20th, the 80-strong community orchestra and choir with members across Bristol, Paris, West Yorkshire and Nantes will pay homage to music by artists such as Gal Costa, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Tom Zé, and Jorge Ben.

The group is led by multi-instrumentalist Jesse D Vernon, and they previously played explorations of Radiohead and interpretations of Jimi Hendrix and the psychedelic movement at the Union Chapel.

Critically-acclaimed indie folk artist and ex-Goat Girl member Naima Bock will join the Fantasy Orchestra as a special guest.
