In:Motion reveals third season

Bristol’s clubland will be treated to a third season of In:Motion from September to December with Fatboy Slim, Sven Vath, Seth Troxler, Four Tet, Public Enemy, Grimes, Magnetic Man and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry all set to perform. The team have collectively put on events such as Glastonbury’s Dance Village’s Wow! stage and May’s debut dance festival Love Saves The Day in Bristol, and have now put together a showase of leading acts for the city’s clubbers.

Warehouse Project 2012 revealed

Warehouse Project returns for 2012 with a new venue for its seventh year of winter parties. Returning to the Victoria Warehouse which housed two Easter shows in April, the season kicks off on Friday, September 28th and runs weekly through to New Years Day.

Vitalic announces new album

French electro act Vitalic has announced details of his new album Rave Age. Released on October 22nd through Different Recordings, it has 12 new tracks and will be supported by a tour later this year. Mixed by production wizard Stephane Alf Briat, known for his work with Air and Phoenix, Rave Age showcases his big room electro sound and has influences from punk and film soundtracks to disco and indie dance.

mulletover will host their Halloween party at the London Pleasure Gardens with Cassy, Subb-An, Boddika
and Huxley the first acts confirmed. On Saturday, November 3rd the underground dance promoters will take over the hub and the dome at the new venue in the heart of the Olympic East End with projection mapped visuals and a license until 6am.

Brownstock Festival announced

Labrinth, Nero and Grandmaster Flash will perform at Brownstock Festival on the Brown Family’s farm, near Chelmsford in Essex from Friday, August 31st to September 2nd. Other acts set to play include Zane Lowe, Toddla T, Artwork, Doorly, Jackmaster and The Cuban Brothers at the event now in its 8th year. Some 6,000 visitors will attend the independent festival featuring music, comedy, storytelling, street art camp, skateboarding park, parkour displays, street dance, a silent disco and the chance to try a home raised Aberdeen Angus Beef burger from the farm.

Todd Edwards and Paul Woolford are among the first names to be announced for the FOUND Street Party on Saturday, September 29th. South London’s forward-thinking clubnight will be closing Earl Street in Shoreditch for the day with house and four-to-the-floor inspired sounds also coming from Huxley and the Urban Nerds’ Rattus Rattus.

Cocoon Heroes London into the Magic revealed

Carl Craig, Cassy, Mathias Kadan, Onur Özer and label boss Sven Väth have been revealed as the first acts to play the Cocoon Heroes indoor London show Into the Magic. On Saturday, December 1st they will be at the London Pleasure Gardens and a second round of early bird tickets are being released after the first batch sold out in 12 hours. The new venue on Trafford Park Road used for the Easter parties is bigger than the previous space in the centre of the city, enabling organisers to book a glut of names for the first nights on Friday, September 28th and Saturday, September 29th.

Isle of Wight’s festival season closing event Bestival continues to add to a line-up that already includes Stevie Wonder, Florence + The Machine, New Order, The xx and Sigur Rós. Detroit kids to benefit from electronic music festival

Detroit techno heavyweights will join forces for the seventh annual SCP Backpack Music Festival this August, raising thousands of dollars, backpackes and school supplies for the inner city’s children. This year’s festival will be held from August 4th to 5th at New Center Park in Detroit’s vibrant Midtown featuring Derrick May, techno music innovator Mad Mike of Underground Resistance and Juan Atkins. Nearly $30,000 in money and backpacks filled with school supplies have gone to about 1,500 students since it’s inception. Organisers hope to meet or exceed the seven year total in 2012.
