Rock royalty Queen return to the live stage a quarter of a centurty after their last performance to play a second concert at the venue that once provided them with their biggest gig: Knebworth Park. Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor have confirmed the band will headline the second day of Sonisphere on Saturday July 7.
Engine Earz and RackNRuin will play special reggae DJ sets for Rompa’s Reggae Shack at The Victory. The final installment before the event jets off to Snowbombing in April, get along to the venue on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch for reggae, dub, roots, rockers, dubstep and jungle on Saturday, March 3rd.
London’s Lovebox festival has moved to June for 2012 but the three day event promises the same mix of dubstep, hip-hop, drum & bass, house, techno and indie over three days in Victoria Park. The Hackney green space will play host to the 10th anniversary of Lovebox running from Friday, June 15th to Sunday, June 17th.
The reformed New Order will headline Bestival on its Saturday night. Gillian Gilbert has rejoined the long-running act and they will play the main stage on the third day of The Isle of Wight festival, this year running from Thursday, September 6th to Sunday, September 9th.
Bristol’s Motion nightclub has built a firm foundation for top parties on its skatepark roots following two seasons of In:Motion. It’s launched a new website with a host of hot acts appearing in March as well as galleries, videos and a blog to keep the Motion spirit alive all during the week.

Clapham Common’s South West Four will go on an hour later each day this year and be headlined by bassheads Chase & Status on Saturday, August 25th. The popular day festival over the August bank holiday weekend has had its licence extended to a 10pm close on both the Saturday and Sunday, and has revealed the first act to close the main stage.
Patrick Bodmer of duo M.A.N.D.Y. will get behind the decks for an eight hour set as part of the A Night With… series in London. On Saturday, March 10th Bodmer will appear independently of his songwriting partner Philipp Jung as A Night With… moves to NW10’s Loft Studios.

Electric Deluxe Presents touches down in April for the London leg of their fourth birthday weekender with a German techno cast at Brixton Electric. The evolving Bloc festival has revealed the first details of its 2012 line-up featuring some of the most famous names from across the electronic music spectrum. The now two-day event in London’s docklands will see custom-built outdoor and on-water stages playing host to techno, house, electro, dubstep, bass and electronica acts on Friday, July 6th and Saturday, July 7th.
The first details have emerged about Bestival 2012 including a dance headliner and the fancy dress theme. Back at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight from Thursday, September 6th to Sunday, September 9th, curator Rob da Bank has also revealed new features at the popular event this year.

The family-friendly Camp Bestival has unveiled the first details of the 2012 event at Lulworth Castle in July. Their Olympic-themed weekend will feature a of screening the opening ceremony live in the Big Top on Friday night complete with a Camp Bestival torch, plus the Camp Bestival Blue Coats will host a 2012 Silly Olympics. Musical highlights will include Hot Chip, Kool & The Gang, Chic and the Earth Wind & Fire Experience for a fun-filled four days with more than 100 free things for kids to do.

Shoreditch’s Village Underground will host the debut of the All Gone Pete Tong nights of underground electronic music on Saturday, February 25th. RockNess, the NME Awards 2011 “Best Small Festival” Winner, has revealed its line-up headlined by Mumford & Sons, Biffy Clyro and Deadmau5. The three-day Scottish festival at Loch Ness, Dores has the usual mix of indie and dance acts at its spectacular setting, and, despite its size, has signed up some huge acts to play in June. RWD Mag host the next Big Chill Presents, bringing a night of hip hop, house, R&B and garage to Big Chill House on Saturday, February 25th. DJ sets from DJ Semtex, DJ Woody, DJ Supreme, DJ Chewy and a live acoustic set from Mr Adaggio will feature at the free event.
Birth Records have teamed up with Shoreditch venue The Queen of Hoxton for a new night showcasing rising stars. The first event on Saturday, March 3rd will feature DJ sets from Crystal Fighters and IS TROPICAL plus live sets from Helsinki’s wonky popstrels LCMDF, the afropunk of I.R.O.K. and electro pop from Arp Attack.
