Mungo’s Hi Fi with Eva Lazarus, Dub Pistols and BrukOut featuring Seani B & Stone Love are among the latest acts added to Liverpool’s Positive Vibration Festival of Reggae. Taking over the Baltic Triangle on Friday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th, Dreadzone, Tru Thoughts Records with Rodney P, DJ Skitz & Wrongtom, Resonators and Sinai Sound-System are also joining them - and we have a pair of tickets to give away.
The previously-announced acts include Macka B & The Roots Ragga Band, Sister Nancy & Legal Shot Sound System, Adrian Sherwood & Creation Rebel, Iration Steppas with Murray Man, Misty in Roots, Don Letts, Channel One Sound System and Manudigital with Parly B & Bazil. The music will be supported by a reggae Q&A to focus on the impact of reggae on British music, culture and society.
Activities and workshops will include dub poetry classes with Levi Tafari, Jamaican dance classes with Merseyside Dance Initiative, arts and crafts with Square Pegs, screen-printing with The Paper Moon, Capoeira & drum classes with Capoeira For All, face painting and a soft play area. Part of the festival is an Art of Reggae exhibition in support of the Alpha Boys School in Jamaica. It will launch at Constellations on Wednesday, June 6th from 7pm. Entry will be free, but you must confirm your attendance via Skiddle.
