The world’s only ‘mindful triathlon’returns to the UK when Wanderlust 108 takes over Battersea Park on Saturday, September 15th. The event’s signature triathlon comprises a 5k run (or walk), a DJ-powered 90-minute outdoor yoga class and a 30-minute guided meditation. Attendees can also enjoy live music and DJs, artisanal vendors, local foods and The Uncommons venue which hosts actiivities such as acro-yoga, aerial yoga, guided meditation and hula-hooping.
This year’s triathlon produced in partnership with adidas will see the yoga presented by Liforme and hosted by health guru and author Julie Montague alongside Jonelle Lewis and Mona Lisa Godfrey plus Goldie on the decks. The meditation will be led by Michael James Wong while Will Sebastian will act as host for the day running from 7.30am tro 5pm.
The Uncommons concept invites ambassadors to present classes with the schedule including AcroYogaDance (acroyoga), Tania Brown (yoga for runners and cyclists), Harriet Emily (gong meditation/sound garden), Olivia Marley (yoga for athletes) and Ida May (primal movement). The Wanderlust Speakeasy, an intimate lecture series venue, will offer talks on Beauty In Breaking from Coco Tiekle and Plastics from Lottie Bowser. There will also be a Tea Garden, cooking demonstrations, licensed bar, immersion zones, Wanderlust 108 the Kula Marketplace and a retail adidas x Wanderlust store experience housed in a geodesic dome.
Local and organic food vendors will include The True North Café with the option to pre-order Wanderlust’s signature picnic lunch the ‘Wanderbowl’ from Pollen & Grace served in a biodegradable bowl. The Mexican-inspired vegan dish features chipotle dressing, sweet potato, avocado mousse, massaged kale, black beans or black rice, corn, coriander and lime salsa, beetroot sauerkraut and white sesame. Find Your True Fork presented by California Walnuts is new for 2018 offering festival-goers classes and presentations about healthy, sustainable ways to prepare food.
Wanderlust UK, Ireland, Middle East & North Africa Managing Director Alan Steel said: “A shared sense of community is an important part of the Wanderlust vision of ‘Finding your True North’, and we’re looking forward to helping bring people together in a fun, nurturing environment. Battersea Park is a beautiful setting – one of the best parks in Europe - and we’re curating a diverse range of experiences from the familiar to the more unique. We’ll then release further details of The Uncommons activities and Kula Marketplace vendors later this month.”
