Urban Nerds and Snowbombing Halloween

!(feature_l)http://relayer.s3.amazonaws.com/articles/spreads/4ea48611e0c7170001000283.jpg!Urban Nerds host a bass-charged Halloween special at a new venue in London Bridge: Crucifix Lane. This raw, warehouse-style club space in the cavernous tunnels next to the station will become a spooky venue on Friday, October 28th and serve as a warm-up for the Nerds’ return to Snowbombing festival in 2012.

Heading up the Urban Nerds Halloween party are H.E.N.C.H- signed duo Joe Erskine and Luca Gulotta, aka KillSonik. Their re-work of Nero’s massive “Crush On You” has amassed more than 750,000 YouTube hits in a matter of days and signals big things on the horizon for the pair: their set at Crucifix Lane will be one of their first in London

Joining them is one of dubstep’s finest exponents and early innovators Hatcha. Over the years Hatcha’s championed the genre throughout London’s pirate circuit, has held a coveted Rinse FM residency and now brings dubstep to the masses with his respected Kiss 100 show. South London grime originators OGs (Organised Grime) support, bringing the genre back to Urban Nerds with MCs Blacks, Little
Dee and Jendor, on the mic alongside East London DJ and Rinse FM resident, JJ. Also on the decks is the latest addition to the Urban Nerds family, Marcus Nasty, original residents Rattus Rattus and Klose One, plus the dubstep, jungle and drum & bass influenced Soul Circuit and Codec to get things going.

Scotish rave king and supporter of bass in all its forms, Hostage, headlines room two which is hosted by rising London born and bred label, Black Butter Records. Black Butter supports the grittier end of the bass-led scene with a distinct collective of producers under its wing, citing influences as broad as jungle, drum & bass and breakbeat to house, techno and 2-step, as well as ragga, dancehall, reggae, grime and dubstep. The crew are showcasing this genre-defying ethos with label heads Woz and Noisses joining RackNRuin & MC Koast, Trouble & Bass collaborators Tomb Crew, dancehall and bass blenders Warrior One & MC Serocee, plus the UK Funky duo responsible for this year’s underground anthem ‘Deep In The Valley’, Rudimental & MC Shantie. Drum & bass production team Cinematic will also play joined by vocalist Takura who has collaborated with Chase & Status.

Ahead of the party, Rinse FM resident JJ (OG’s) has put together a mix available here.
