Over the years, the cost of an average UK festival has been gradually creeping up to nearly the same as a holiday abroad. But the two don’t need to be mutually exclusive. Especially when festivals like Nos Alive combine an amazing line up and very reasonably priced tickets with a fantastic destination like Lisbon. It also always helps when the average temperature in July (when the festival runs) is 24 degrees.
The festival runs from Thursday, July 6th to Saturday, July 8th. The line-up currently includes heavy-hitters such as The Weeknd, The xx, Ryan Adams, Foo Fighters, Bonobo, Depeche Mode, Alt J, Fleet Foxes, Peaches, Cage The Elephant, Savages, Phoenix, Spoon, Glass Animals, Royal Blood, Warpaint, The Kills, Imagine Dragons, Wild Beasts, Kodaline, Blossoms, Rhye and Parov Stelar.
Following last year’s 10th anniversary celebration with a standout lineup of the summer which included headliners such as Radiohead, Arcade Fire (in one of the only three performances in a year), Robert Plant, Pixies, Biffy Clyro, Chemical Brothers and Tame Impala, expect more treats to be added in the run up.
The festival site is eight minutes away from Lisbon’s vibrant downtown and 15 minutes from the beach. Acts don’t start until 3pm each day, giving plenty of time to soak up the local attractions before dancing the night away.
