Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Aurora will headline Norway’s Øya Festival 2022. Running from Tuesday, August 9th to Saturday, August 13th in Oslo’s Tøyenparken, the line-up is a 50/50 split of male and female artists.
Among those artists are Jarv Is, Michael Kiwanuka, Bikini Kill, Suede, Pa Salieu, Beabadoobee, Yard Act, Q, Dagny, Emilie Nicolas, Bright Eyes, Princess Nokia, Kvelertak, The Good The Bad And The Zugly, Tøyen Holding, Musti, Molchat Doma, Combos, Mettesen, and Hannah Storm.
Øya is run in a way that is environmentally sustainable as possible: and has been repeated hailed as the world’s greenest festival at the European Festival Awards and at the AGF Awards (A Greener Festival).
The site operates free of fossil fuels, with 98 percent of its power being renewable and all construction machinery is run on biofuel. That progressive approach is also applied to everything from recycling (75% of all waste is recycled, having been sorted by hand) to travel (98% of attendees arrive by bike, foot or public transport).
