Floating Points, KiNK, Andrew Weatherall and Midland are among the acts to play new multi-venue festival Inner City Electronic in Leeds on Saturday, June 2nd. The day will see live acts, DJs and talks involving master classes, new technology showcases and forums across 11 venues.
Inner City Electronic will be spread across Belgrave Music Hall, Church, Distrikt, Headrow House, Hope House, Hyde Park Book Club, Hi-Fi, Old Red Bus Station, Sheaf St, Wire and The Wardrobe. There will be four outdoor terraces for day parties and 15 dancefloors.
Live acts confirmed so far include Floating Points, KiNK, Dopplereffekt, Mad Professor, Radioactive Man and Autarkic. DJs announced include Andrew Weatherall, Avalon Emerson, Crazy P Soundsystem, Horse Meat Disco, Iration Steppas, Joy Orbison, Midland, Nicolas Lutz, Paul Woolford, Peggy Gou and Ralph Lawson.
Inner City Electronic is working alongside MAP charity at Hope House on producer forums where aspiring artists can and play their tracks to industry professionals and workshops where artists such as KiNK, Mad Professor and Mark Ital will give masterclasses.
Technology showcases will see production equipment made available to enable attendees to get hands-on with the machines. There will also be daytime talks discussing electronic music history, culture and current themes. Workshop details will be announced in March.
One of the event organisers, Ben Thompson, said: “Leeds has a multitude of outstanding venues and a thriving electronic music scene with rich history, having lived in the city for 6 years now I’m still finding things I hadn’t yet come across. We wanted to create something that could showcase both the amazing arts and event spaces on offer in the city, as well as the people who in habit them, the idea was to create something based on collaboration that could project the cities scene and help it develop further.”
