Clapham Common’s South West Four dance festival has announced more of its acts playing over the August bank holiday weekend. Joining Carl Cox, Erick Morillo, John Digweed and Knife Party on Saturday, August 26th will be Benny Benassi, Gareth Emery, Joris Voorn, Mark Knight and Funkagenda. Supporting Skrillex, Skream, Benga, Andy C and DJ Fresh on Sunday, August 27th will be 2manydjs, Eric Prydz, Sasha, Simian Mobile Disco and Erol Alkan.
Benny Benassi’s famed for writing “Satisfaction” but the Italian has plenty of other recognisable tunes such as a remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring The Noise” which bag a Grammy and a cheeky re-work of Marshall Jefferson’s “Move Your Body”. Gareth Emery’s trance stylings such as “Concrete Falls” and “Sanctuary” will give the crowd soaring anthems while Mark Knight’s house has ensured he’s become a global favourite – so has labelmate Funkagenda who has a Ministry Of Sound residency. Dutch DJ Jooris Vorn will be keen to show his talents to the London crowd having conquered Ibiza with We Love…
2manydjs, the DJ manifestation of production duo Soulwax who live by a “expect the unexpected” prophecy, will help ensure SW4 gets a taste of every genre while more house on the Sunday comes from Eric Prydz. Sasha returns with 25 years of DJing behind him, Erol Alkan’s tech, electro, pop and rock infusion will be as inventive as ever. Simian Mobile Disco return to London after last year’s SW4 and Together Winter Music Festival appearances.
