Joining headliners Death in Vegas, Beardyman and Fat Freddie’s Drop at the three day festival in Hertfordshire that is Standon Calling are !!!, Crazy P, Willy Mason, the Trojan Soundsystem, Greg Wilson and more. Running from August 3rd to 5th, the independent event has a Journey to the Ends of the Earth theme this year along with a dog show, the only festival swimming pool in the UK and a homage to the Olympic games.
California’s dance-punk act !!! (Chk Chk Chk) are flying over to play Standon Calling with a live show centred on freedom of expression, unadulterated punk and pure escapism. Crazy P put on a dance music shows punctuated with pop, disco and rhythm funk while DJ legend Greg Wilson will put his re-edit skills on show spinning disco and electro-funk sounds. Eclectic, experimental DJ and producer Colleen ‘Cosmodelica’ Murphy will play psychedelic, cosmic sounds, Willy Mason’s headline performance on The Lordship stage promises to be special and the Trojan Sound System will put out the reggae vibes
Also playing are jump-about party people The Nextmen featuring MC Wrec, psyh-rock act Turbowolf, hotly-tipped lo-fi duo BIGkids house duo Figures, seven-piece band Revere, folker Beans on Toast, former Kasabian tour partners Belakiss, Welsh chamber pop duo Golden Fable and slick rock’n’rollers The Fabulous Penetrators. As well as the music the Heritage Arts Company will present a treasure hunt, there will be poets, authors and comedians in the UnderCovers Literary Lounge and there will the option to discover fresh perspectives on science, art and philosophy – billed as the most fun you can have without sex.
