Modern Panic returns for its 10th edition at the Truman Brewery from Friday, November 8th to Sunday, November 17th. The celebration of the subversive will feature more than 70 artists exploring the human psyche through pop surrealism, dark art, magic realism and more, for these most uncertain of times.
Modern Panic, curated by James Elphick, will again spearhead and give a voice to artists whose work does not fit traditional galleries. Its ethos embodies how art should elicit a response, cause a reaction and be transformative. Expect to be challenged audiences by disruptive energy, through a variety of mediums such as fine art, sculpture, photography, live art, film and artist talks.
Live performances will come from Philip Bedwell, Karolina Urbaniak & Martin Bladh, Lise Boucon, Tom Cassani, Bill Duffy, Snake Fervor & Ian The Bloody Poet, Sara Green, Gabriella Jeans, Jylle Navarro, Syban, Francis Wilson and Kasia Zawadzka.
Highlights will include H.R. Giger, Brian Froud, Roger Ballen, Ralph Steadman, Lucy Sparrow, Hans Bellmer, William S. Burroughs, Ron Athey, Paul Toupet and Gaston Ugalde. Some of the rising stars with work on display are Barbora Balek, Brontis Jodorowsky, Yuri Zupancic, Liam Brandon Murray, Sonia Tibacov and Alex Rose.
