Ministry of Sound launch Steve Lavinere fundraiser

London’s Ministry of Sound has launched a fundraiser in support of Steve Lavinere of legendary house duo Bobby & Steve.

Money raised via the Go Fund Me page and Groove Odyssey event at the venue on Saturday, October 3rd will go towards helping Steve recover from a rare brain injury after contracting COVID-19.

Bobby & Steve are best known for their KISS FM show as well as involvement in Garage City and Groove Odyssey. After Steve contracted COVID-19 in March 2020, the virus spread to his nervous system, causing a rare brain injury called Acute hemorrhagic leukoencephalitis.

This diagnosis has caused a Prolonged Disorder of Consciousness, leaving Steve unable to communicate or move his body. All money raised will go towards family home adaptations and future care to enable Steve to return home when the time is right.

Artists set to play the Groove Odyssey fundraiser include Barbara Tucker, David Morales, Lady T, Norman Jay MBE, Michelle John, Trevor Nelson, Miss Ray, Dave Lee, Chrissy T and Brandon Block.
