Michelin star chefs to cater for Sónar VIPs


Michelin star chefs will again provide the food for the Sónar by Day VIP area this year. This year the produce of three local artisan farmers and fishermen will be interpreted by three celebrated chefs. Each day, the chefs will each present two exclusive menus of seasonal and organic cuisine plus a vegetarian option.

On Thursday, July 18th Quim Casellas of Casamar de Llafranc will cook rock octopus fished using traditional lobster pots by Salvador and Helena Manera. Friday, July 19th will see Oriol Rovira of Els Casals de Sagàs cook with hand reared pork raised using traditional methods by Jordi Rovira from Rovira de Sagàs.

Finallny, on Saturday, July 20th, Joel Castanyé of La Boscana de Bellvís will work with the delicious lettuce grown by Ramon Bosch at his allotment in Boscana de Bellvís.

Meanwhile the finale of Sónar will see Matthew Herbert tackle Brexit in the closing concert of Sónar 2019 in collaboration with the GREC Festival. On Sunday, July 21st the Teatre Grec amphitheatre will host the influential musician who will perform tracks from The State Between Us accompanied by a full band and the 50-piece choir, Cor Pilot de l’ESMUC.
