Bloc Weekend is serving up two treats for the final day of its three-day festival this year: a full live show from Laurent Garnier and collaborating with Belfast techno institution Shine for support in the form of Matthew Dear.
To cap off the event at Butlins Minehead in March, the Sunday will see Laurent Garnier present LBS – live, featuring Garnier, Scan X and Benjamin Rippert. The final set of the festival has long-been one of the most unmissable with Phuture 303, Carl Craig and Derrick May all given the nod to close out Bloc in the past. This year techno colossus Garnier steps up to with one of his inventive, heroically relentless and unquestionably innovative productions with Benjamin Rippert and Stephane Dri – a.k.a Scan X – to create a once-in-a-lifetime live techno living dream.
No-one drives a dancefloor like the avant-pop minimalist pin-up Dear.
Earlier in the day, Bloc will also be joined by Shine which in its esteemed 15 year history has hosted everyone from Sven Vath to Aphex Twin via Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villolobos. Fielding the veritable talents of Matthew Dear to support LBS live, his set comes hot on the heels from headlining Bloc’s new year’s eve party in London. No-one drives a dancefloor like the avant-pop minimalist pin-up from Michigan.
