The now two-day event in London’s docklands will see custom-built outdoor and on-water stages playing host to techno, house, electro, dubstep, bass and electronica acts on Friday, July 6th and Saturday, July 7th.
Legendary rave duo Orbital will continue their renaisance with the launch of a new album Wonky this year, and their headline set at Bloc will be a live performance with the fresh material. Flying Lotus, who seems to always have fresh material to play, also takes a top slot along with pioneering electronic music genius Gary Numan. Techno favourite Ricardo Villalobos will be on hand to deliver one of his trademark minimal masterclasses while Squarepusher and Battles will be letting their guitars and drums do the talking with live sets.
Jeff Mills and DOOM, techno and hip hop royalty respectively, Apparat Band, Four Tet and a Carl Craig 69 show are all high profile first names to be released for Bloc. The most intriguing is A.T.O.L, a collaboration between Modeselektor, Marcel Dettmann and Shed. Digital Mystikz, Hudson Mohawke, Ellen Allien, Shackleton, Scuba, Clark, Sandwell District, Actress will also perform over the two days.
