Feelings will celebrate three of the most important cities in dance music history with a London summer series taking in the sounds of Chicago, New York and Detroit. They will welcome pioneers of house, techno and disco alongside global and homegrown rising stars.
The series kicks off with The House that Chicago Built on Saturday, May 27th - a day and night of Chicago house at Red Market and Village Underground covering all things house from the jackin’ and deep to hip hop and more.
From 12noon to 4am the 14-hour journey will take in sets from Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley, the man who started London’s love affair with house music when his 1987 release ‘Move Your Body’ became the first ever house track to top the UK charts.
He’ll be joined by Glen Underground who pushed house music forward throughout the 90s plus Tyree Cooper and production duo Virgo Four performing a live headline set.
The new generation will be represented by Chicago Flotation Device pairing Lobster Theremin head-honcho Asquith with Manse, Dimensions Soundsystem, Mixmag’s disco diva Digb¥, Don and Suspiciously Delicious. Feelings residents The Menendez Brothers, DJ Karl Karlson & Brian Summers, Gustave and DJ Friendly complete the line-up.
Tickets start at just £5 from www.feelingsldn.com. New York and Detroit editions will be announced soon.
