His Don’t Break My Love tour also brings labelmate Soul Keita and new signing Acid Pauli to the capital.
Jaar’s visit to London early in 2012 comes after being voted the top live act in the RA polls and rated with the number two album in Rough Trade’s end of the year album chart. He will mark his final Don’t Break My Love gig with a new live show expected to be even more impressive than his 2011 performances at Nuits Sonores, Sonar, Glastonbury, Roskilde, Montreux Jazz Festival and Melt. Last year was a breakout year for Jaar who, at just 21, is carving out his electronica niche further by starting his own label Clown & Sunset
Thursday, February 2nd will be a showcase for Clown & Sunset – a music company and outlet for Jaar’s most intimate work as well as the debut of some of the more innovative multimedia works that will be released through Clown & Sunset’s parent company, CS Aesthetics (CSA). Acid Pauli has signed up to the label to bring his down-tempo, dark carnival aesthetic to its roster, and the German musician and ex-Bar25 resident will perform on the night. Soul Keita, one of Clown & Sunset’s founding artists, comes to London to premier his new live set. The 20-year-old Ethiopian musician and painter recently relocated to Paris from his hometown, Addis Ababa, to compose new music and develop his visual art.
