Brighton Music Conference 2019 reveals full programme

The Brighton Music Conference 2019 (BMC19) has revealed its full daily schedule plus evening events. The sixth edition of the four-day congress will run from Wednesday, April 24th to Saturday, April 27th with its mix of panel discussions, talks and seminars from across the music, nightlife, tech and digital industries, together with tech masterclasses, evening networking events and nighttime parties.

Much of BMC19 will be held at the British Airways i360 beachfront centre and i360 Pod observation tower, but various venues in Brighton will also be involved. There will be two BMC Professional Conference Theatres, a Pioneer DJ Academy Theatre, Focusrite/Novation theatre plus an official tech exhibition and music services Demo Zone.

The programme includes a BIMM sponsored ‘2nd Summer of Love’ discussion with Paul Oakenfold interviewed by Alon Schulman from Universe, DJ Growth Lab’s ‘Meet The Mentors’ session and label Q+As with Defected, Ultra Records and Shogun Audio. This year’s A&R panel will be moderated by Stuart Knight from Toolroom.

There will also be a ‘sound healing’ workshop with Tom Middleton and Tony Andrews, Pioneer will host workshops this year in the Academy Theatre and BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat will broadcast live from the i360 pod on Friday, April 26th. This year’s programmes include ‘Getting paid when DJs play your music’, ‘Is Greed Killing the dancefloor’ and ‘Maintaining Mental Health in the electronic music industry’.

There are more than 200 speakers confirmed such as David Morales, Paul Oakenfold, Irvine Welsh, Marshall Jefferson, Danny Rampling, Huxley, Norman Jay MBE, Friction, DJ Storm, Teebee, Leftwing & Kody, Kevin McKay, Carl Finlow, Brandon Block, Rebekah and Jubilee. Meanehile, representatives from Scan Pro Audio, BBC Radio 1, PRS for Music, BIMM, AFEM, Glasgow Underground, R&S Records, Glitterbox, Beatport, Believe Distribution, Focusrite Novation, Help Musicians UK, Loopmasters, Hospital Records, Sharp Stream, Skiddle, and Horus Music, LNADJ will be in attendance.

New for 2019 is BMC’s The Label Lounge, in association with AIM, comprising A&R feedback sessions, at The Tempest Inn on Friday, April 26th. Labels represented include Skint, Cr2, Glasgow Underground, Champion, Sola, Axtone, Solotok, Audio Rehab, Realm, &Friends, Basement Sounds, Wired, Daylight Robbery and Shanghaied.

BMC official parties will include Berlin with Rebekah, Markus Saarlander, Lola, Monica & Pook at The Green Door Store; Tech-Noir 10th birthday party with Kevin McKay; Enzo Sifferdi & Friends at The Tempest; Nicolas Lutz, Charles Green, Mehtola, J-Felix & Wild Fantasy at Patterns and Wiggle 25th birthday party at Hideout.
