Kate Simko & London Electronic Orchestra, Fatima & The Eglo Live Band, Jodie Abacus and Soweto Kinch will play Borderless at London’s Battersea Arts Centre. The programme of gigs returns for its second year in May celebrating homegrown UK talent alongside artists from around the globe from Thursday, May 4th to Thursday, May 18th.
The collaboration between Battersea Arts Centre and former Roundhouse music programmers GOAT Music will also feature Melt Yourself Down and Trim with support for each date to be announced.
The Borderless concerts will take place in the Battersea Arts Centre's Council Chamber in a Grade II* old town hall that hosted The Jam's 1977 gig, voted one of Time Out London's Greatest 100 Gigs of all time. Gig-goers will also be able to enjoy food and drink in the Scratch Bar on the ground floor, or from a private bar upstairs.
Battersea Arts Centre Artistic Director David Jubb said: “The first Borderless season in 2016 added to a history of great music nights in Battersea’s former Town Hall which have included The Jam and Fleetwood Mac in previous decades. I am absolutely delighted that Borderless is back in 2017 with the promise of some new legendary nights in Battersea Arts Centre’s historic and atmospheric Council Chamber.”
GOAT Music Founder Dave Gaydon added: “Following the success of the 14 shows we produced last summer, it is an absolute pleasure to be working with Battersea Arts Centre again on a second series of Borderless. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to programme another run of incredible artists from right across the musical spectrum further cementing the beautiful Council Chamber’s reputation as wonderful venue to experience live music.”
