The Isle of Wight festival also promises more space for campers at the Robin Hill Country Park site, this year running from Thursday, September 6th to Sunday, September 9th.

Though the three headliners are yet to be announced, Bestival has confirmed that Mercury Prize winners The xx, who played a victory set the Big Top in 2010, return for 2012 with new material while Icelandic post-rock behemoth Sigur Rós will perform following a successful solo set from lead singer Jónsi the same year.

Justice had intended to kick off their new tour at Bestival last summer, but shelved the idea to return this September fully prepared following the release of Audio, Visual, Disco. Northern Ireland’s Two Door Cinema Club will be there and Bestival veterans Hot Chip are lined up for a live set. The sharp-suited electro purveyors Soulwax will get a live set before getting hold of their headphones for a 2ManyDJs set, dubstep fans will get Nero and there will be Scottish soul courtesy of Emeli Sandé. Ravers old and new will be treated to Orbital, American artrock will be provided by Warpaint, hip-hop kings De La Soul will be there and the first ministers of bass Major Lazer, aka Switch and Diplo are back too. Sister Sledge, The Horrors, Spiritualized, Gary Numan, Gold Panda and Adam Ant with The Good The Mad and The Lovely Posse have also been announced.

Behind the decks Detroit techno overlord Kevin Saunderson, Annie Mac, Four Tet and Caribou (b2b), 2 Bears, David Rodigan MBE, Claude VonStroke, Eats Everything, DJ Yoda, Maya Jane Coles and Scuba will get dancefloors throbbing.

New for Bestival this year is a premium camping area, nestled between a beautiful wooded forest called the Wild Copse. Guests here can benfit from more space and top-notch facilities: the Wild Copse will have its own car park and a short walk to the campsite with high-end toilets and showers. Boutique camping is next door so you’d share a food and seating area, a chill-out bar, a pampering area and a the new healing area close by.

Bestival curator Rob da Bank said: “So, here we are then! Announcing Bestival again – and another bumper selection of acts from across the musical world and styles. The xx at Bestival two years ago is in my top three Besti performances ever so I’m delighted they’re hitting the main stage in 2012 and I’ve finally landed Sigur Rós, one of my all-time fave festival acts. From Justice to Azealia Banks, Spiritualized to Sister Sledge, I hope there’s something for everyone and still three headliners to unveil shortly!”
