60 more acts and new stage for Sónar 2017

Thundercat, Cerrone, Robert Hood, Joe Goddard, Andy Stott and Fran Lenaeres are among the latest 60 acts confirmed for Sónar Barcelona 2017 in June. Sónar will also introduce a new stage, SónarXS, to Sónar by Day to showcase new talent and underground sounds in close quarters.

Sónar Barcelona returns from Thursday, June 15th to Saturday, June 17th. French musician Cerrone, a regular at New York’s Studio 54 and creator of disco hits such as ‘Supernature’ and ‘Love In C Minor’, will present a show at Sónar by Night with projections, live vocalists and all the hits from his celebrated career. Spanish DJ Fran Lenaeres, and the legacy of the ‘French Touch’, will be explored following his performance with a set from Clara 3000 and Justice live show.

Thundercat, Sohn and Andy Stott will present their new albums in their live shows and there will be performanes by women trasforming their respective genres from DΔWN, reshaping R&B with futuristic pop, Jlin, whose footwork moves towards abstraction and Princess Nokia, the new figurehead of New York hip hop and trap. Further trap will come from the new SónarXS stage plus sets by Kiddy Smile, Total Freedom, Deena Abdelwahed and DJ Florentino.

The SonarDôme stage program curated by Red Bull Music Academy and Sónar is now complete with the additions of MC Earl Sweatshirt, the world premiere of the ‘Floorplan Live’ show by Robert Hood and his daughter Lyric, Suicideyear, Denis Sulta, Star Eyes b2b DJ Jubilee, RayRay, Daniel Brandt & Eternal Something, Miiin and C. Tangana. Tech-focused shows include performances by Nonotak and Boris Chimp 504, the latter with a narrative a/v show focused around the journey of the first chimpanzee sent to the moon in 1969.

Sónar by Night will also welcome Dubfire, Nick Hook, Jacques Greene, Avalon Emerson & Courtesy while by Day will feature Juana Molina, Elysia Crampton, Keys N Krates, Jacques and Craig Richards.
