The Brand New Heavies, Jocelyn Brown, Masters At Work, Heartless Crew, Shola Ama, Hannah Wants and Todd Terry are among the acts who will play 51st State Festival 2021. The event returns to Trent Park on Saturday, August 7th to celebrate dance music roots in US gospel, soul and house through iconic movements of acid house, UKG and dancehall to the next generation of artists.
There will be seven stages. The We Love Soul stage will showcase soul, funk, disco, boogie, rare groove and RnB with live performances from The Brand New Heavies, Lauraine McIntosh (The Cool Note’s), Junior Giscombe and Rose Windross. DJ sets will come from Jazzie B, Jerry Bascombe, Matt White and Jigs.
Groove Odyssey will bring live legends Jocelyn Brown and Alison Limerick plus the House Gospel Choir, Masters At Work, Roger Sanchez, Body & Soul (Francois K, Joe Clausell and Danny Krivit), Dimitri From Paris, Dave Lee, Mike Dunn and Terry Hunter.
Back To 95 will bring the garage, UKG and 2-step thanks to Shola Ama, Barbara Tucker, Todd Edwards, Dreem Team (Mikee B and DJ Spoony), Heartless Crew (Mighty Moe, Bushkin and DJ Fonti), Wookie, Matt Jam Lamont, Majestic, Noris Da Boss Windross plus a special guest.
Three contemporary headline acts join the FOUND main stage with Hannah Wants, Mark Knight and Bontan confirmed. Amine Edge & DANCE and Todd Terry complete this stage.
The Acid House Experience arena will bring the sound of the 303 via Ratpack, Trevor Fung & Tracee G, Colin Dale, Ellis Dee and Huck Finn plus the vocalist on Raze ‘Break For Love’, Keith Thompson.
Hot Wuk will be all about UK dancehall with DJ sets from The Heatwave, Robbo Ranx and Sir DJ Corey, and live sets from Charly Black, Alicia Harley, J Kaz and Jordian Natty.
VIPs will get to hear House FM’s stage with John Morales, Anané Vega, Opolopo, Lady T & Miss Ray and Randy Peterson.
