Apparently, backstage these guys didn’t bring beer or amphetamines only a load of Willy Wonka chocolate bars. Gees it showed, whether it was through the guitarist’s hair or the oompa lumpah keyboards, this chocolate was refined.

You and the Atom Bomb have been on the circuit for a couple of years now, though have only recently signed to a label –Sink and Stove- and it is only up until now have they been able to exploit this ‘security’ to build up some studio time, some closer gigging and a fuller sound. So anyway it shows, the hook driven melodies are no longer whiter than white, with keyboard dirges now spilling over them and drum fills breaking them down — the rhythm section does however remain tighter then tight. And tight is right, no?

Not quite spangly guitar pop, not quite post punk, not quite shoegazer but if anything their sound has become a little more restrained, the punchy guitars and Pavlovian yelps of the male singer come a little later but as a result a whole lot more sharper and yep there is an intrepidation in the audiences faces. Hell, this is London, an Indie night and people are looking up from under their hair and actually starting to diggler to this boogie.

Check these guys out.
