Loveless Effect is a blues-rock trio from Buckeye, Arizona - three best friends with a passion for creating music and a hunger for wanting to share that passion with the world. Following the release of their debut EP, they are touring Europe in March through to April with American Young and Sasha McVeigh. We caught up with Seth Loveless (lead vocals and guitar), Forest Towers (Bass) and Justin Schafer (drums/percussion) to find out about them.

We don’t know of any band that we could be filed next to as far as our sound.

2016 - a new year! What is your goal?
Our goal for this year is to record our album of new material and to increase our fan base.

Did you make any new year’s resolutions?
Seth Loveless: Our resolution is to make this year better than last year.

What was the biggest lesson you learnt in 2015?
Justin Schafer: The biggest lesson was to not believe what other people can do for us, we need to do it ourselves.

What was the musical highlight of 2015?
Forest Towers: It would have to be from our first UK tour, it was our first time overseas and to be playing our music there was amazing. We won’t forget it.

Who are you excited to hear from in 2016?
We would love to go to a Foo Fighters show.

Tell us about the record you have just released.
Seth Loveless: Our EP is a six song long EP, each song is different from the other and it shows our versatility in music. We are proud of it and we hope you like it as much as we do.

If you had to pick three artists to be filed next to, who would they be and why?
Justin Schafer: We don’t know of any band that we could be filed next to as far as our sound.

Forest Towers: The bands that influence us the most would have to be Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, and Tom Petty. These artists have influenced us over the years and we want to do what they have done.

Seth Loveless: So we would love to be filed next to these legends.

What inspired the record?
Seth Loveless: Chet Atkins guitar playing and artists like Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Dire Straits, and Johnny Cash’s later work.

The biggest lesson was to not believe what other people can do for us, we need to do it ourselves.

If the record were an animal, what animal would it be?
Forest Towers: We can change our sound and get different styles like a chameleon can change colors. So definitely a chameleon.

Define your sound in five words.
Justin Schafer: Melodic, fresh, soulful, technical, and unique.

If you could jam with one artist alive or dead, who would it be?
Seth Loveless: My pick is Chet Atkins, he is my greatest musical influence and he is deceased.

Forest Towers: My pick is The Dread Crew of Oddwood, they are a pirate band and it would be great to play with them on stage.

Justin Schafer: I would love to be able to play with Thomas Pridgen. He is an excellent drummer and I would like to learn from him in person.

If you could have written one song by another artist, what would it be?
Seth Loveless: My choice is “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton.

Justin Schafer: Mine would be “Tom Sawyer” by RUSH.

Forest Towers: “Achilles Last Stand” by Led Zeppelin, I love that song.

Someone is making a film of your life, who will play you?
Forest Towers: T.J. Miller is hilarious.

Seth Loveless: Chris Hemsworth for sure!

Justin Schafer: Jim Carrey, I love that guy.

Lastly, tell us one thing you have never revealed in an interview.
Forest Towers: I wrote Star Wars.

Seth Loveless: I love South Park.

Justin Schafer: I love flying airplanes.
