Jeorgia’s a south London native who was the one of the first artists to be signed to the recently-created Amy Winehouse Management. We spoke to Jeorgia about singing and single ‘Think Of Me’.

My style? I couldn’t describe it. But I am well known for being a powerhouse.

First up, tell us bit about yourself - what first got you into music?
I have always loved music! My family is quite musical and I’m sure I came out singing. My earliest memories are music and singing and my dad had a big influence on me as he was my first ever vocal coach.

Were there any particular bands or artists you took inspiration from when you were establishing your sound?
Growing up my inspirations were Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston… I love their power notes! As time went on I started listening to other genres like Opera and Country whilst my dad would play Luther Vandross too. So I think I am quite well rounded.

How would you describe your style?
My style? I couldn’t describe it. But I am well known for being a powerhouse.

You were one of the first artists to be signed to the recently-created Amy Winehouse Management. How did that come about?
It’s such a surreal feeling to be signed to Amy Winehouse Management. I love Amy’s music. My management started this label and thought I would be perfect to represent what the label stands for and that’s talent!

How is Amy Winehouse Management supporting you?
How are they not supporting me looool. They give me financial support, they give advice, I don’t know everything and they give me they support and guidance in making decisions I wouldn’t be sure on.

You built a loyal following via the release of standout YouTube covers. How did you start that process?
Well with the growing popularity of YouTube/Instagram, and the fact I enjoy singing, I thought it would make sense. Prior to my covers I would record myself singing all the time, so why not post them?

What have been your favourite covers?
It has to be my Adele ‘Someone Like You’ cover on Link Up TV.

You performed your own renditions of Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ on the ‘Behind Barz’ Link Up TV series. What response did you get?
The response was so surreal! I was only 14 at the time, but I got so many views in such a small amount of time I was so shocked and everyone seemed to live it!

Tell us about your new single ‘Think of Me’. What’s it about?
‘Think of Me’, that song was about my ex who had broken up with me at the time I recorded the song. I loved him and when he broke up with me I was hurt from such a messy break-up and that’s where my emotion came from. I am over him now, we have hatched it all out and wish him all the best. But I don’t want this song to just be a breakup, sad song… I want it to be an anthem for girls and guys to know that is is normal to hurt, and to think ‘Do you think of me?’. But, most importantly, you come out on the other side.

When did you write it and where did you record it?
My good friend August Twelfth wrote this song and when I heard it I had to have it! I recorded this just over two years ago.

How has the feedback to the single been so far?
The response has been amazing! Lots of great feedback from loads of different people especially men which surprised me but I am really happy about it!

What else have you got in store for 2018?
2018 is defo a year of hard Work! I got more videos coming out, shows, one being in April at apple and pears in Shoreditch and loads more content for you all!
